Meta Quest VR training app with 360 video, branching choices, and bHaptics feedback for clinical education.

Branching Haptics is a virtual reality training app for education. Learners enter immersive 360 video scenarios and respond to realistic patient-care situations while receiving haptic feedback through supported bHaptics devices.

The app supports guided experiences focused on clinical attention, environmental safety, empathy, therapeutic communication, and decision-making under pressure. Some modules are linear simulations, while others use branching decisions where learner choices affect the outcome.

Branching Haptics is designed for supervised education, simulation labs, and training environments. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or clinical advice.

The challenge was turning patient-care training into an immersive experience that felt realistic, teachable, and safe for supervised education. The app needed to combine 360 video, branching decisions, and haptic feedback without making claims beyond training and simulation.

From 360 video to interactive training

The project starts with scenario-based production: real people, staged patient-care situations, and 360 video intended for headset playback. The training flow is built around presence, attention, and instructor-led reflection instead of passive viewing.

The experience pairs video moments with decision points. In branching modules, learner choices affect the next segment of the scenario, making the result useful for debriefing communication, safety awareness, empathy, and judgment under pressure.

Haptic feedback is used as a supporting cue. The goal is to reinforce presence and attention through supported bHaptics devices while keeping the experience appropriate for supervised education and simulation lab use.
